This book was a welcomed addition to resources for my animal career students. I recommend it highly through my Unusual Animal Career Series...and through my seminars.

What you will find is a book that contains information on volunteering opportunities, career realities, some of the animal training schools, and a good compilation of facilities that you might find interesting.

If you have dreamed of an animal career with marine mammals then invest in this book!

I was very to lucky to stumble across this book in a Flordia Keys giftsshop, for it is reshaping my life. For anyone interested in a career working with marine mammels, this book is a must. It brings hours of research into a nice, compact form. And in edtion to listing facilities to work with ans schools to consider, Thomas Glen - the author - fills the book with amusing, but realistic views of the way of life in this field.

hearty information on marine mammal careers.

This book was everything that anyone interested in marine mammal training needs to know to get started. It lists all of the facilities in North America that contain marine mammals for display. The book also lists all of the school programs in North America that have majors related to marine mammals, either in training, conservation, or just field research. I couldn' put the book down. I must have read it all within 24 hours. I found out the information that I need to get started. I am currently volunteering at Santa Barbara Marine Mammal Center, which is also listed in the book. To be taken seriously for jobs in this field, volunteer work is essential, which Thomas Glen, the author, is quite clear about. I must say, that I am quite fortunate to live n Ventura County, CA, where the only animal training school in this country is located, Moorpark Community College's Exotic Animal Training and Management Program. I am focussing on going there, and it is quite difficult to get in. The author rates this school very well for actually being placed in a job for marine mammals, as well as other exotic animals. I think anyone interested in marine mammals as a career ought to check this book out. I was not dissappointed. I was nothing but impressed.
