Product Description
Crow Durango, a housekeeper in Mercy Hospital's Emergency Room, begins delivering life-saving medical bulletins she received from Dr. Glass, the former head of the Mercy ER who died sixteen years ago. The widow of a well-known jazz musician, Crow meets the ER's current chief, Thomas Graystone, at a Greenwich Village club. Graystone, a society doctor, is surprised to find that he is drawn to someone like Crow, whose background is the projects. Their unlikely love improvises its way into their lives amid the feverish heartbeat of the ER. An unusual, entertaining and pulse-pounding story. "Entertaining...graphic, spiced with wit...spirited storytelling" (Publishers Weekly)

When's the movie coming out?

Granted, I enjoyed her first five books (which includes this one) to a great degree more than her last two, but perhaps that's my problem. I think she's among the greatest and most underrated contemporary authors. I've been waiting for this to come out in movie form...

The best I've read from Rogan
Rating (5)
Date: 2005-08-04
This book captivated me from beginning to end. It is the fifth Rogan book I've read, and my favorite.
For a white, Jewish woman to put herself in the place of African American of diverse backgrounds, and make it read as authentic, takes a lot of hard work, research, and mostly skill.
My wife is a nurse and tells me Rogan writes like she has been to nursing or medical school
My only puzzlement in this story is Dr. Plummer, the nasty OB-Gyn Physician. I'm not sure what purpose he serves the plot.
I hope MGM doesn't take too long to come out with the movie.
